“∞”虽然是一个数学符号，却在神学、哲学、数学和日常生活中有着多元而丰富的概念。当英国人John Wallis将8水平置放成”∞”，并阐述了数学中“无穷大”这一概念时，大约2500年前的印度已经对这一概念有了记载。

2019年7月的第二届平遥国际雕塑节上，来自世界范围内的数十位艺术家以雕塑为引领，呈现了一场极具张力的艺术盛宴，这是Tony Brown的雕塑作品《∞》首次出现在公众视野中。2020年夏末，尺寸数倍于平遥国际雕塑节的《∞》落地西安欧亚学院校园，一场关于东方与西方，传统与现代，人文与自然的探讨在更大众的范围展开。

融合 FUSION

在谈及这座耗时一年多，经过Tony Brown、欧亚学院及奕木艺术多方努力完成的雕塑作品《∞》时，Tony Brown给出的关键词是“融合”。《∞》是建筑学、园林艺术、雕塑艺术的融合，也是坚硬材料与流畅曲线、平整板面的融合。它试图表达作品与环境的关联，利用每一个空洞关系去诠释无限符号的无限概念。Tony Brown认为作品能够与人产生互动性非常重要，当人们可以坐在上面聊天，可以站在上面拍照时，人与作品、作品与树木、人与环境之间的互动会构成一种全新而和谐的融合。

超越 BEYOND

从平遥国际雕塑节的展览小稿，到欧亚学院的大型雕塑，奕木艺术配合Tony Brown完成《∞》全部作品的二次深化、制作及安装工作。面对不同空间的展示效果和需求，奕木艺术思考了不同呈现形式及差别化的工艺细节，从而确保作品在不同空间最佳的呈现形态。

《∞》在工艺层面的难点主要有两方面，一是极高的准确性要求，由于整体雕塑形体超出成品耐候钢板既有规格，为保证造型曲线的流畅度，实现无缝拼接后板面的平整，对公差精度的考究显得尤为重要；二是作品的表面涂装，作品需要在安装完成后于户外进行涂装作业，选择有利天气非常关键，而哑光涂料无法打磨必须一次成型，这无一不加大了施工难度。

Because the overall sculpture shape exceeds the existing specifications of the finished weathering steel plate, in order to ensure the smoothness of the modeling curve, the seamless splicing of the surface Smoothness is particularly important for tolerance accuracy; the second is the surface painting of the work. The work needs to be painted outdoors after the installation is completed. It is very important to choose favorable weather, and the matte paint cannot be polished and must be molded in one time. One does not increase the difficulty of construction.}
